Samuel Lloyd Milby's Dream House

Sam is one of the most successful personality in showbiz, many adores him for his achievements, his one  of a kind.
This is may first time to feature a house of a celebrity here in my blog. I want to share to the followers of this blog my knowledge about Sam and all actors im interested with.

Since my topic is about architecture, I focused on Sam's house.

This are some pictures taken inside and outside the house of Sam. You can see how neat and cozy it looks like, its like living in a mansion wherein no worries about what will happened tomorrow. Its a place where you can find peace despite the stress you gain from work.
Sam's house is spacious, the house have many secret doors leading to some rooms na di mahahalata ng sino man.
As you can see the stairs of Sam's house is hanging, according to Sam's mom and Boy Abunda the person who will go up might be at risk.

The Future Architect

Majore G. Fortin

I have this good friend of mine, who has given a talent to draw and create designs, that’s why she took up Architecture as her course.
“I thought architecture before is easy as drawing the things that I like, but when I entered college, specifically here in Bicol University I was shocked to the surprised reality. Architecture is not easy, you need to make an extra effort to pass all the projects that the professors ask us to do, most especially you cannot create a design or lines without measuring it. Architecture needs knowledge to create and make thing to reality.” she said.
Every semester for Majore is a crucial stage, you need to do your best to survive.
According to here, in architecture you need to be positive all the time, weak people could not take the pressure in architecture, you need to be strong and brave enough to face all the challenges you may encounter in architecture course.
As of now, Majore Fortin is in 5th year college, striving to pass the next two semesters and looking forward to her bright future as an architect.
“Don’t get affected to what people might say, just do your best to achieve your dream and let the people surprise to your achievement.”
–MAJORE FORTIN

Point of View:
(konek)
The blue house is located at Castilla, Sorsogon wherein, your eyes will be hooked once you’ve notice the house, when you look the house, it can refresh the mind, because of its color. I wonder who is the architect behind that architecture, the inside appearance of the house is also cool.
SANA. L

Creation THrough Imagination

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.                                                                                                 -Albert Einstein

How an architect does do their magnificent architecture? Sometimes, when we saw beautiful architecture we can’t help our self from asking who the man behind that creation.
Often times, I ask myself why only few in this world have a talent, to build and create architecture. And just on time, when I browse the facebook homepage I saw Einstein quotations.
Maybe because, people can create an art work because of their wide imagination, and they make their creation possible by doing it in action. Imagination mixes with talent make the art work feasible.
As the years pass by, the architecture becomes modern and more improve, maybe because of many technologies that arise today.

Who is Pablo Antonio?

"buildings should be planned with austerity in mind and its stability forever as the aim of true architecture, that buildings must be progressive, simple in design but dignified, true to a purpose without resorting to an applied set of aesthetics and should eternally recreate truth
-Pablo S. Antonio.

I always hear the name Pablo Antonio when the topic is about architecture. Antonio is one of the famous architect in the country who designed a lot of prestigious building in the Philippines.

In Pablo's early life, he lived at Binondo, Manila in 1901. He was orphaned by the age of 12, and had to work in the daytime in order to finish his high school education at night. He studied architecture at the Mapua Institute of Technology but dropped out of school in order to assist in the design and construction of the Legislative Building (now, the National Museum of the Philippines).

Ramon Arevalo, the engineer in charge of the Legislative Building project, funded Antonio's education at the University of London. He completed a five-year architecture course in three years, graduating in 1927.
Antonio first came into prominence in 1933 with the construction of the Ideal Theater along Avenida Rizal in Manila. His work caught the eye of the founder of the Far Eastern University in Manila, Nicanor Reyes, Sr., who was looking to build a school campus that was modern in style. Between 1938 to 1950, he designed several buildings on the university campus in the Art Deco style. The FEU campus is considered as the largest ensemble of surviving Art Deco architecture in Manila, and in 2005, it received an Honorable Mention citation from the UNESCO for the body's 2005 Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.

ntonio also designed the White Cross Sanitarium (1938) along Santolan Road in San Juan City, and the Manila Polo Club (1950) in Makati City. He likewise designed the Ramon Roces Publications Building (now Guzman Institute of Electronics) in Soler Street in Manila, the Capitan Luis Gonzaga Building, and the Boulevard-Alhambra (now called Bel-Air) Apartments Building in Roxas Boulevard & where Manila Bay Hostel is located on the 4th floor, this Bel-Air Apartments is near T. M. Kalaw Avenue & beside Miramar Hotel. Bel-Air Apartments building was designed by Pablo S. Antonio and built in 1937.
Apart from the Ideal Theater, Antonio also designed several other theaters in Manila, including the Life Theater, the Scala Theater, the Lyric Theater, and the Galaxy Theater. As of 2008, only the Galaxy Theater remains standing, though it is threatened with demolition.
Antonio is one of the best architects in the Philippines because his style is noted for its simplicity and clean structural design.
He was cited taking Philippine architecture into a new direction, with "clean lines, plain surfaces, and bold rectangular masses."  Antonio strived to make each building unique, avoiding obvious trademarks.

As I observed Antonio’s work, I can see that he just don’t designed for the sake of designing. He was also conscious of adapting his buildings to the tropical climate of the Philippines. In order to highlight natural light and also avoid rain seepage, he utilized sunscreens, slanted windows and other devices.
He is one of a kind, the honor he received as one of the National Artists of the Philippines is apt for him.

Panimulang Ratsada

I don’t have any idea about architecture. All I know that it is a form of art creating and building house and making the imagination possible. I was confused when I took the topic in blog but I told to myself to pursue the topic and learn the things with regards to Architecture.
I browse the internet and look for an issue or a specific topic in my first entry in blog. I have learned we have many Filipino architects who gave a lot of contribution to the Philippines, like Juan F. Nakpil.
As an architect,  Nakpil has contributed immensely to the present shape and form of Philippine modern architecture. Born on the 26th of May, 1899 in the district of Quiapo, Nakpil first ventured into the arts as a young child. Joining various competitions in school, Nakpil showed his immense talents in arts winning various distinctions in his drawing classes. As a young man, Nakpil took up and eventually obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in 1922, where in 1950 he was honored by the same school as "distinguished alumnus". After being encouraged by an uncle, the young Nakpil ventured in 1922 into his first love, architecture, enrolling at the prestigious Fontainebleau School of Fine Arts in France, Nakpil under the tutorage of Carlu and Laloux, noted architects of the Palais de Chaillot, gained insights into European architecture particularly French Beux Art which was still popular at the time. As a student in Fontainebleau, Nakpil showed great talent being listed as among the top 10 of 40 in his class. Being a Filipino in Europe at that time, Nakpil was able to continue the great triumphs of early Filipino nationalists such as Luna, Hidalgo and most notably Rizal, a couple of decades earlier. With a degree in both civil engineering and architecture in hand, Nakpil furthered his education by gaining the Joseph Evelyth Scholarship in 1925 at the Harvard Graduate School for Architecture. While studying in Harvard, Nakpil entered a design competition open to students of Boston Institute of Technology , the Architects Club of Boston and the students of Harvard University. As a Filipino student in a bastion of White American society, Nakpil triumphed among all others, being the only student not only of Harvard but from the Philippines to have won.
In 1928, the young Nakpil joined the prestigious firm of Andres Luna de San Pedro. Working on noted projects such as The Crystal Arcade and the Don Gonzalo Puyat and Sons Building. Influenced by the great artist's son, Nakpil opened his own firm in 1930, creating marvels of modern architecture. Throughout his long studies abroad, as well as the diverse influences he has received, Nakpil has created in time a diverse catalogue of structures. Showing influences of French Beau Arts, Art Deco, and the International Modern Style. A master of designing, Nakpil was able to merge and create a distinctly Filipino Style with the different mediums he handled. A much honored Architect, Nakpil received the highest honor for his craft in 1973. He died in 1986 leaving a vast legacy of monuments in honor of the modern Filipino architect.
